Truck was redlining, not shifting. After taking it to Don’s shop, and a new transmission later, my truck is up and running better than it had been before the issue occurred in the first place. They did everything on their end to make the claim and deal with the representatives through my warranty, so I did not have to bounce back and forth between the shop and warranty representatives, making everything less stressful on my end. Very thankful for Don and the crew he runs there. Could not be more happy with how my truck is running.

We just had a great experience with Don here today. My husband took our 2001 van in thinking it needed another new or rebuilt transmission and we were debating if it would be worth the expense. Don was so concerned about the noise it made he wouldn't let my husband leave with it to go to a doctor appointment. Instead he had someone drive him to the appointment while they diagnosed our problem. It would have been easy to tell us that the solution to our problem was an expensive transmission job but honesty was the name of the game here. We only needed our catalytic converter bolts tightened. For their minimum one hour service cost the van was repaired. Driving it home it was so quiet that we wondered if the engine was still running! Thanks, Don, and everyone there for the fabulous and super quick service. Your business card is one we are keeping!

Excellent service!!! I brought both my car and my son’s car in for transmission work and they did a thorough job. Service was great from the front desk to the mechanics servicing the cars. I am pleased with the outcome of the services provided. I look forward to working with them again when necessary.

Great place reasonable prices when our next alternator dies will go back worth the drive to Tacoma. 9 months on their rebuilt and still running great.

Don is a class act!!! He went out of his way and above and beyond to help me out of a tough spot. I'll be taking any of my rigs to T.S. for work in the future. My truck is currently at another transmission shop and when I finally got their quote after disassembly I was dismayed at the inflated numbers that I was seeing. Every transmission shop in town could do it cheaper than what they were telling me. I only went with that particular transmission shop do to them having the highest ratings on google in the Tacoma area. What a mistake that was. Thankfully they price match and Don took the time to talk with me on the phone and answer all my questions; in addition to providing me with a written quote (much more reasonable amount) to get their price match. Keep in mind he did this without me even being a paying customer at this point. On principal alone I would rather have had my truck worked on by Transmission Specialists, unfortunately with it already being disassembled at the other shop it just isn't feasible. It is obvious Don actually cares about taking care of his customers instead of wringing them for every dime possible. Finding an honest shop that stands behind their work and that will take care of you is getting harder to find. Thankfully Don embodies those principals in the way he conducts business at Transmission Specialists. Thanks again guys. You have no idea how much I appreciate it.

Friendly, honest, and detailed. My initial diagnosis was handled quickly, phone calls were made as they discovered additional problems. Each item was discussed for my safety and the operation of my vehicle, before making a decision. They stayed late for me to pick it up. They were polite, pressure free through the entire process. These guys are the best. They worked my truck and did what was needed to put it back on the road. Friendly people that explains all they find and what it costs for repairs. Never had to be pressured into anything and it was my decision to have work done. I believe I have made new friends now and have a place to go first if my truck go's wheels up later. They are backed up by a great group of people in Kent that makes sure the transmissions are the best before placed in your vehicle..
